With millions of hectares under cultivation each year, Africa should have been able to contain one of its perennial problems; food insecurity.
Besides, the continent should have been able to produce enough crops for export and for consumption at the internal market including the local industries.
However, Africa has not been able to satisfy any of the two; millions of its cultivators continue to be food insecure despite tilling huge fields.
